As for my reasons for choosing PC, I'll keep it simple: I wanna play any computer game I want instead of a handful, I want access to a much larger base of useful software that doesn't get developed for Macs unless third parties are involved (Xfire?), my DAW of choice is Windows-only (FL Studio), I'd like to be able to upgrade my computer with stuff that's not proprietary and overpriced, and if I buy new, I can get more out of a PC than I can out of a Mac despite spending just as much.

Furthermore, since I don't believe that anti-virus does anything effective, you are only as safe from viruses as you want to let yourself be. I know a number of people that don't use anti-virus on windows and they are just fine because they don't do stupid things. Same applies with OSX, sure 99% might not ever get a virus, does not mean it is any less likely if they do stupid things. PS, I wrote malicious code for OSX for a few years.
